Tom Gilding BVSc BSc CertSAS MRCVS​

RCVS Advanced Practitioner In Small Animal Surgery​
Tom graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2004 and holds a Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. Tom has previously ran 2 of the largest veterinary hospitals in Cheshire. He has a national reputation in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic disease and is one of the most experienced surgeons in his field, with clients coming from across the UK to benefit from his personable approach and renowned expertise in areas like neurosurgery.

Enzo Minghella DMV DipECVAA MRCVS​

RCVS and European Specialist in Anaesthesia
Enzo graduated in 2006 in Perugia, Italy. After 3 years in general practice he completed an internship in Anaesthesia at the University of Liverpool. He completed his residency at the University of Glasgow, and then remained there as a Clinician in Anaesthesia. He has worked at several referral hospitals including Fitzpatricks, home of the Super Vet. He is a EBVS and RCVS Specialist in Anaesthesia and his main interests are in TIVA/TCI and locoregional anaesthesia.

Chris Seymour MA VetMB DVA DipECVAA FHEA PgCertMedEd MRCVS​

RCVS And European Specialist In Anaesthesia​
Chris graduated in 1982. After several years in general practice he completed his specialist training in anaesthesia. Since 2006 Chris has worked in several referral hospitals including at the University of Cambridge, the Royal Veterinary College, Davies and Pride Referrals. His main areas of interest are in perioperative medicine and the training of colleagues both in the UK and around the World.

Jerry Shimali BVSc certVDI DipECVDI MRCVS

RCVS and European Specialist in Diagnostic Imaging
Jerry graduated in 1995 from the University of Liverpool. During his 12 years in general practice he was awarded the RCVS Certificate in Diagnostic Imaging in 2006. He undertook a residency at the University of Liverpool from 2007 and in 2011 he was awarded the European Diploma in Diagnostic Imaging, giving him specialist status. As well as his regular clinics at Peninsula Jerry provides visiting services to general practices and lectures nationally and internationally.

Stuart Cooke BVetMed certSAS MRCVS

RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Surgery
Stuart graduated in 2002 from the Royal Veterinary College, London and holds a Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. Known as ‘The Hip Vet' Stuart has set up and ran successful referral hospitals and is one of the most experienced orthopaedic and neurosurgeons in the UK. Over the past 15 years he has undertaken over 500 Total Hip Replacement cases. He is an instructor, lecturer and assessor for Kyon who produce the hip implants we use here at Peninsula Vet Referrals. 

Robert Hamilton BSc BVetMed GPCert (Endo) PgC SAEE MRCVS​

Rob graduated in 2001 from the Royal Veterinary College, London. He previously ran a large veterinary hospital. He is a passionate advocate for minimally invasive surgery and offers an extensive range of laparoscopic procedures and was awarded a Certificate in Small Animal Endoscopy and Endosurgey.

Rory Paton BVSc CertAVP MRCVS​

Rory graduated in 1996 from the University of Liverpool. After 18 years in routine first opinion practice he decided to dedicate his time to orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery. He gained his certAVP in 2013. He is the founder of vPOP-PRO, which is the leading orthopaedic planning software used to plan and maximise outcomes in orthopaedic surgery and is used in 45 Universities and over 50 countries around the World.

Derek Hughes BA(Hons) MSc PgDip (MRI) HDCR​

Derek graduated with his Diploma in Diagnostic Imaging at Bangor University in 1984. He gained his Higher Diploma from Lancaster University in 1990 before gaining his MRI Diploma in 1996 and MSc in 1997. He spent 2 years as a tutor at Lancaster University, and in 1997 he switched to veterinary imaging. He was a founder of Burgess Diagnostics in 2004 and has worked as an independent radiographer since 2010. He has an interest in CT imaging.

Mark Overend BVMS GPCert (Cardio) PgC MRCVS​

RCVS Advanced Practitioner In Cardiology​
Mark graduated in 1990 from Glasgow University. He was a director in a first opinion practice for many years before deciding to focus entirely on imaging. He gained an ESVPS certificate in Cardiology in 2010 and a PgC in Small Animal Cardiology in 2017. Inbetween his regular clinics at Peninsula he regularly travels across the UK providing training courses on ultrasound scanning for vets working in general practice.

2 new hips For Bjorn!

A bi-lateral total hip replacement (THR) surgery has given a beautiful Bjorn a sound future. Bjorn is a 1-year 5-month male crossbreed who presented to us as he had shown a decreased athletic ability and an unwillingness to jump/play. On presentation there was evidence of a shuffling gait and poor hindlimb musculature.

Ventral Bulla Osteotomy In Gilmour

Gilmour is a 6 year old, male entire, Italian Spinone who presented with a 48 hour history of pyrexia (high temperature), head shaking, right sided head tilt and facial pain to his right jaw. He has previously undergone bi-lateral total ear canal ablation surgery at a previous vets.
